Safeguarding 1 lasts three years, it can be refreshed with the short refresher as long as it is done within 3 years of date the course was completed.

If this is correctly completed in time it will be in date for another 3 years however the date of the original course taken is the deciding date for requirement of new three-hour course. The Refresher date is not valid in this case.
